In recent years, government agencies, museums and the Taiwan e-Learning and Digital Archives Program (TELDAP) have output an abundance of e-learning and teaching resources, as well as research achievements. However, the application and promotion value and benefits of these resources were limited by a lack of integration. In the light of this, the Museum Computer Network (MCN) Taiwan Chapter Educational Application and Promotion Special Interest Group (SIG) will be holding Digital Archives and e-Learning Educational Application and Promotion – Middle and Elementary Schools: “Educational Resource Integration” Seminar and “Learning Resource Platform and Learning Services Portal” Consultation Meeting in the afternoon of January 22nd, 2010. Digital archive and learning resource implementation units and middle and elementary school teachers who are engaged in e-learning applications will be invited to attend the meeting. The seminar and meeting aims to enhance educational promotion effects via experience sharing, general discussion, and integration of e-learning resource applications in industrial, government and academic sectors, establishing a direction for future developments in e-learning resource integration and educational application and promotion.
The event is divided into two sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The topic of the morning session is Digital Archives and e-Learning Educational Application and Promotion – Middle and Elementary Schools: “Educational Resource Integration”. Besides describing the process, current status and future prospects of integrating digital archive and e-learning resources into science education websites of middle and elementary schools, museums (the National Palace Museum, National Museum of Natural Science) and 2 project directors of the TELDAP open request for proposal project will be sharing their experiences in educational application and promotion of e-learning in middle and elementary schools. In addition, middle and elementary school teachers will share their experiences with integrating digital archive learning resources into teaching, and the opinions and recommendations of digital resource educational application and promotion institutes will be gathered in the general discussion.
The afternoon session is an extension of the morning seminar and is a Consultation Meeting on the “Learning Resource Platform and Learning Services Portal.” The National Museum of Natural Science’s years of experience and achievements in educational application and promotion of TELDAP will be used as an example in the consultation meeting. Middle and elementary school teachers and participants are welcome to recommend functions for the platform and learning portal. The goal is to truly implement the teaching platform and learning resources portal as an extended learning resource for middle and elementary school teachers and students.
The MCN Taiwan “Educational Application and Promotion SIG" was established to provide educational promotion workers, information technicians and museum studies related researchers in museums and social education institutions with information on developments in digital archives, e-learning, and digital museum educational application and promotion issues, to develop innovative information technology applications, to establish information systems and creative value-added applications, to explore educational promotion services and community operation models, and to establish a forum for academic research and platform for exchanges and sharing. You are welcome to discuss “educational application and promotion” related studies, technologies and industry news, or share your opinions of related books on this forum.
