Registrars of public and private cultural institutions, Collection Management System SIG members, Chinese Association of Museums Collection Safety and Maintenance Committee members and any individuals interested in the subject are welcome to sign up.

The primary goal of Collection Management System SIG, MCN Taiwan is to explore ways to manage museum collection effectively via information technology, and to encourage theoretic discussion and experience sharing so as to boost professional development of museum registration operations and form a professional community.

For the year of 2009, seven workshops have been scheduled. For the first, fourth, and fifth workshops, Mei Campbell, Anthropology and Textile Researcher of Texas Tech University Museum; Hwai-ling Yeh-Lewis, senior collection management staff of the Asian Division of the Metropolitan Museum of Art; and Kui-Ying Liao, associate curator of Chang Foundation Museum, will be present to share their rich museum cataloging experiences and preside over case discussions. In the other three workshops, based on the theme of the workshop and classic writings on museum collection cataloging, current museum registrars will lead the discussions and cataloging experience sharing. The seventh workshop will be presided over by Dr. Kuei-Yu Yeh, National Museum of Natural Science, to discuss the theory, practice, and case studies of collection management.
