AAM MUSE Awards, issued by Media and Technology Committee of American Association of Museums, have been valued as the greatest honor for Museum professionals whose work is involved in the field of media and technology. Earlier this (2009) year, Taiwan has been invited by the working group of AAM MUSE Awards and became one of the International jury panels to review 27 very creative interactive kiosks from different countries. It was also the first time in twenty years, since the settlement of Muse Awards, that international jury panels were established. The jury panel was chaired by James Quo-Ping Lin, the Vice-President of MCN Taiwan Chapter and the Chair of Media and Technology SIG.
In order to share this valuable jury experience and latest innovation about media and technology with MCN Taiwan members, the Media and Technology SIG, National Palace Museum, and Multi-Media & Technology Committee of Chinese Association of Museums have decided to hold this year’s second workshop on October 19th on Monday. Nik Honeysett, the incumbent AAM Media and Technology Committee Chair, Jack Ludden, the AAM Media and Technology Committee Chair-Elect, and Suzanne Sarraf, the AAM Media and Technology Committee Member, are invited to talk about the history and development of the AAM Media and Technology Committee and the MUSE Awards. Ms. Herminia Din, AAM Media and Technology Committee Member, will serve as the simultaneous interpreter for the 3 talks. Also, the 7 Taiwan judges will participate in this acticity ,to share their thoughts stimulated by the jury experience in terms of their different expertise. Through the sharing of ideas and experience among media technology experts, scholars, and professionals, we hope to discuss how media and technology could bring their influence on museum exhibitions, promoting education and marketing fields.
